Begin your 5-day Marrakech adventure with a warm welcome upon arrival at Marrakech Menara Airport. A local guide will greet you and escort you to your Riad, where you can check in and relax after your journey. The remainder of the day is free for you to discover the lively atmosphere of Marrakech at your own pace. You may wish to visit the famous Jemaa el-Fnaa square, the vibrant heart of the city, where street performers, food stalls, and local life create an unforgettable scene. Enjoy dinner at one of the square’s restaurants before returning to your charming Riad for an overnight stay.
Your desert adventure from Marrakech to Merzouga begins with a convenient pickup from your Riad. Leaving the busy city behind, travel southeast through the spectacular landscapes of the High Atlas Mountains. Along the route, pass traditional Berber villages and stop at scenic viewpoints to take memorable photographs.
Stop for lunch in the historic village of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site celebrated for its ancient Kasbah. This impressive fortified village has appeared in famous films and series such as Prince of Persia, Gladiator, and the popular television series Game of Thrones.
Afterwards, continue to Ouarzazate, known as the home of Africa’s largest film studio, where an optional visit can be arranged if desired. From here, travel onward to the Dades Gorge, crossing the beautiful Valley of Roses along the way. In the Dades Valley, admire the remarkable rock formations known as the “monkey fingers” and take in panoramic views of the gorge and surrounding valley before settling into your hotel for the night.
After breakfast, set out for another memorable day exploring southern Morocco. Drive through striking landscapes following the Dades and Todra Rivers, where palm groves and traditional Berber villages line the route. Your first major stop is the spectacular Todra Gorge in Tinghir, widely known for its dramatic canyon walls and natural beauty.
On the way toward the Merzouga desert, your driver/guide may suggest a stop at a traditional Berber shop. Here you can experience a touch of Berber culture by trying on traditional clothing and taking photos at no cost. If you wish, you may also browse scarves or desert souvenirs, though there is absolutely no obligation to buy anything. The stop is mainly intended to share Berber traditions. If you prefer not to stop, simply inform your guide and the journey will continue directly.
Upon reaching Merzouga, prepare for a memorable camel trek across the golden sand dunes. Enjoy the magical sunset over the Sahara and try the exciting activity of sandboarding. Later, settle into a luxury desert camp where a delicious dinner will be served. Spend the evening under the clear desert sky, surrounded by the peaceful atmosphere of the Sahara.
Following breakfast at the desert camp, begin the return trip to the lively city of Marrakech. Today’s journey takes you through the impressive Draa Valley, known as the longest valley in Morocco. Along the way, stop in Agdez to admire a panoramic view of the valley filled with countless palm trees.
Continue traveling until reaching Ouarzazate, where you will pause for lunch before continuing the journey. Afterward, cross the High Atlas Mountains once again as you make your way back to Marrakech. Upon arrival, you will be comfortably dropped off at your Riad.
Start the final day of your 5-day Marrakech itinerary with breakfast at your Riad. Your local guide will then lead you through some of the city’s most important landmarks, sharing fascinating insights about sites such as Jemaa El-Fna Square, Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, Ben Youssef Madrassa, and the Koutoubia Mosque.
