ITINERARY

Day 1: Agadir – Ait Ben Haddou – Rose Valley – Dades

Your adventure begins with an early morning pickup from your accommodation in Agadir at 7:00 AM. Travel through the stunning Anti-Atlas Mountains, enjoying panoramic views as you make your way inland. Stop at Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO-listed fortified village (ksar) that has served as a backdrop for numerous films and TV series.

Continue along the legendary Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, passing through the fragrant Rose Valley, famous for its rose plantations, and the dramatic Dades Valley with its unique rock formations. Arrive in Dades in the evening for an overnight stay at a traditional hotel or riad, where dinner and breakfast are included.

Day 2: Dades – Todra Gorge – Merzouga – Erg Chebbi Desert Camp

After breakfast, head to the Todra Gorge, one of Morocco’s most spectacular canyons, with sheer cliff walls rising up to 300 meters. Explore the surrounding Todra Valley and visit traditional Berber villages along the way.

Continue your journey through Tinjdad and Melaab before reaching Erfoud, a town renowned for its fossil deposits. As the afternoon draws to a close, arrive at the edge of the Sahara in Merzouga, where camels await to take you on an unforgettable trek into the Erg Chebbi dunes for sunset.

Spend the night at a luxury desert camp, enjoying a traditional dinner, a campfire under the stars, and live Berber music.

Day 3: Day 3: Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Middle Atlas – Fes

Wake early for a magical sunrise. After breakfast, depart Merzouga and drive through the Ziz Valley, home to Morocco’s largest palm oasis.

Cross into the Middle Atlas Mountains, passing through the town of Midelt. Stop at the cedar forests near Azrou or Ifrane to spot wild Barbary macaques in their natural habitat. Continue to Ifrane, often called “Little Switzerland” for its alpine-style architecture and greenery, before completing your journey with arrival in Fes at approximately 7:00 PM.

What should I pack for the tour?

We recommend comfortable, breathable clothing for daytime travel, a warm layer for evenings in the desert (temperatures drop significantly after sunset), sturdy walking shoes, sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen, and a scarf or shawl to protect against sand and sun during the camel trek. Don’t forget a swimsuit if your hotel has a pool, and a small bag for overnight items, as larger luggage may need to be left with the vehicle.

How long is the camel ride in Erg Chebbi?

What if we want to skip the camel ride in Erg Chebbi?

If you prefer not to ride a camel, a 4×4 transfer to and from the desert camp is available for an additional fee. Please let us know in advance so we can arrange this for you.
