Today we travel from the Dades Gorges toward the towering golden dunes of Erg Chebbi in Merzouga. The drive passes through the scenic landscapes of Tinjdad and Jorf, eventually reaching the fossil rich town of Erfoud at the edge of the Tafilalet oasis. Upon arrival in Merzouga, you will mount a camel for a trek into the heart of the Sahara as the sun sets over the horizon. The night concludes at a luxury desert camp with a traditional feast, Berber drum music, and a night of stargazing.
Wake up early to watch the sunrise, then enjoy breakfast before setting off for Fes via the Ziz Valley, stopping along the way for photos. The journey continues across the Middle Atlas Mountains, with a lunch stop in Midelt. Along the way, pass through cedar forests and visit Ifrane, often described as the Switzerland of Morocco for its European-style architecture. Arrive in the historic city of Fes by late afternoon.
