Today we travel from the Dades Gorges toward the towering golden dunes of Erg Chebbi in Merzouga. The drive passes through the scenic landscapes of Tinjdad and Jorf, eventually reaching the fossil rich town of Erfoud at the edge of the Tafilalet oasis. Upon arrival in Merzouga, you will mount a camel for a trek into the heart of the Sahara as the sun sets over the horizon. The night concludes at a luxury desert camp with a traditional feast, Berber drum music, and a night of stargazing.
Wake up early for a sunrise camel ride back to the village for breakfast. Our journey to Fes begins with a unique stop to share tea with a local nomadic family in their tent. We then cross the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping for lunch in Midelt. Along the way, we pass through the cedar forests and visit Ifrane, often described as the Switzerland of Morocco for its European style architecture. We arrive in the historic city of Fes by late afternoon.
